Doug Schwab has been the head coach of UNI wrestling since 2010, bringing a wealth of experience from his own distinguished wrestling career. His tenure has been marked by significant team successes and personal accolades as both a coach and a competitor. His 127 dual meet wins, multiple coaching awards, and consistent production of All-Americans and national qualifiers highlight his remarkable tenure. With over a decade at the helm, Schwab continues to strengthen UNI’s legacy as a powerhouse in college wrestling.

2025 NCAA Championships: Led UNI to a 9th-place finish, the program's highest since 1962, showcasing his ability to elevate the team on the national stage.2025 Awards:Named National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division I Men’s National Coach of the Year.Received the Dan Gable Coach of the Year award from WIN Magazine.Earned Big 12 Conference Coach of the Year honors (also won in 2020).2024-25 Season: Coached UNI to a 14-1 dual meet record, the most wins since the 1990-91 season.2025 Big 12 Championships: Guided UNI to a second-place finish, tying the program’s best result since joining the conference.Career Impact: Developed 22 All-Americans and 92 national qualifiers at UNI, demonstrating consistent success in athlete development.
